About Carla Carson
Hello, my name is Carla Carson. My home here on FAA houses all of my art I have mastered over a span of many years. I reside in Phoenix Arizona, but I am originally from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. It is from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh where I earned my Associates degree in Visual Communications. I work primarily with Charcoal & Pastels, & what you see in my art, poetry, and books, comes from my heart & soul, a reflection of myself. I find all my inspiration in the beauty of each day, & in the amazing people I have met in my lifetime. It is my love for people & my passion for life, that drives me to go after my set goals & follow my dreams. It has been placed upon my heart to start writing and illustrating children's books. This is a wonderful piece, so beautiful... what kind of paper did you use? and did you use exclusively charcoal, pencil? vine?
Carla Carson replied:
Hi Sue, I use 18X24 Strathmore premium recycled paper. Nothing special. #6 soft charcoal pencils & any chunks of charcoal willow & artists loft. I render most of my pictures using my fingers & kneaded eraser. I like to make a pool of charcoal dust & dip my finger in it & render away!
